Cancer Trials Australia (CTA) is a highly effective, member based clinical trial network and site service organization, which has provided clinical trial administrative support to our clinical members for over 20 years.  Since inception in 1993, CTA has administered the start-up and management of over 1,500 oncology clinical trials, sponsored by over 300 different organizations that have recruited in excess of 9,500 patients. 
 
CTA administers oncology clinical trials that range from first-time-in-human trials to large scale Phase III studies.  With 31 members throughout Australia and New Zealand, collaboration across these members provides an opportunity for sponsors to conduct multi-site clinical trials, accruing significant patient numbers quickly, despite Australia’s relatively small population.  Importantly, our membership includes some of the largest and most highly regarded institutions in Australia.
 
We specialise in providing drug development advisory services, ethics and research governance submissions, post-approval activities, management of trials via a clinical trial management system (CTMS) and trial financial management.  Our unique and sophisticated service is built upon high-performing academic collaborations between hospitals and research organisations.  And our long-standing expertise in the area of oncology has expanded to now include all therapeutic areas. 
 
Australia is recognized as a hub for early phase clinical trials and many international biotech and pharmaceutical companies continue to launch early phase trials in Australia.  CTA has an established Phase I focused group and administers >50% of all Phase 1 oncology trials undertaken in Australia.  This unique clinical group includes key opinion leaders who can review pre-clinical data and quickly offer impartial recommendations regarding study design, strategy, and relevant submissions.
