- Clinical Trial Site
Eye Surgery Associates brings together a group of 18 highly qualified ophthalmologists. With four sites across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and a database of over 200,000 unique ophthalmology patient records, we pride ourselves on excellence in sub-specialty eye care.
We have experience in measuring ophthalmic endpoints in clinical trials from Phases I-IV, including first-in-human trials, and have collaborated with Nucleus Network, Peter McCallum Cancer Centre, Cabrini Research, Barwon Health, Eastern Health, Centre for Eye Research Australia and ZAVe Clinical Research Management.
Our ophthalmologists, many of whom have appointments in public hospitals and/or universities, cover most ophthalmic sub-specialties and are interested in ophthalmic devices as well as pharmaceuticals.
We have a team of experienced orthoptists (ophthalmic technicians) who are experts in using a range of high-end ophthalmic equipment, with the option of training in new techniques and certification available, if required.
We have been involved in over 50 investigator-initiated and pharmaceutical or biotech sponsored studies, including age-related macular degeneration, retinal disease, uveitis, glaucoma and cornea.
For us, clinical research and clinical trials are an important part of Eye Surgery Associates’ service provision to current and future patients.
