Goulburn Valley Health (GV Health) is located 170km north of Melbourne in Shepparton, the fifth-largest regional city in Victoria by population. Shepparton is home to a diverse multicultural population, including the largest regional population of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria. Compared to the rest of Victoria, Shepparton has higher rates of heart disease, obesity, asthma, low-birth-weight babies, and people that don’t meet physical activity guidelines. GV Health has the capacity to conduct Phase IIb-IV clinical trials, including teletrials, for therapeutic areas that include Oncology, Anaesthetics, General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Respiratory Medicine, Nephrology, Psychiatry, Allied Health, Palliative care, O&G, Rehabilitation, Emergency and ICU.
Our Demography
• Goulburn Valley Health’s primary catchment includes the local government areas of Greater Shepparton (70 percent of primary catchment population) and Strathbogie.
• Euroa Hospital is officially a campus of Goulburn Valley Health (GV Health), offering acute care, medical imaging and urgent care services to the local community as part of the Victorian public health system, in the Strathbogie region.
• Total catchment stretches into southern New South Wales and the overall catchment population is approximately 150,000 people. Goulburn Valley Health’s secondary catchment includes the western half of Moira Shire; and the eastern and southern portions of Campaspe Shire.
• 11% (twice of rural Victoria) people born in non-English speaking countries, 18.1% children under 14 years, 10.9% are 15-24 years, 3.3% are Indigenous population.*
